Hayama International Language School (hereinafter called “HILS”) is a Japanese language school for students who have learned about caregiving or nursing in their own countries and intend to be effective care workers or nurses in Japan. Our purpose is to cultivate a high-grade care worker/nurse who is able to use Japanese fluently by developing the Japanese abilities that are necessary to work as a care worker/nurse.
“HILS” is located in the east part of Nara City, as known as the Yamato highlands. School’s site area is around 13,000㎡, hence HILS is in a spacious environment. (Formerly Nara municipal Hayama primary school)
The school building is surrounded by abundant nature. Moreover, students can experience the changes of the 4 seasons in the mountain village which are the attraction of our school. Nowadays, our school is focusing on accepting students from various Asian countries. At the time of graduation, we aim for students to reach Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at the N2 Level. For that reason, teachers and students shall work hard together and make an effort every day.
After graduation from “HILS”, students can continue to study at the care worker training school established in the same school building “Nara Central Institute of Care and Welfare”. In addition, for students who wish to study at Prefectural high school’s advanced course or university, we also prepared the way to support their dreams which is the one of big features of our school. The comprehensive cooperation between these two schools is a systematic collaboration, namely “HAYAMA Academy”
In terms of the rapidly aging society problem and the wave of globalization, we believed that “HAYAMA Academy” will extremely achieve the role.
At “HAYAMA Academy”, we sincerely hope that young people from many countries, who cross the borders and learn together here, will not only think that “I want to be a bridge between my country and Japan”, but they will realize to devote themselves to anyone in the world. Besides, we hope they will be effective human resources who can support other people.

Nara Higashi Hospital Group has been established by Tetsumura Toshio family for about 40 years. We have a mission in serving Japanese aging society and contribute to solve this big social issue of Japan.
In order to internationalized the human resource of Nara prefecture, in the last few years, we have enforced the recruitment of foreign nurses and caregivers. However, Japanese language is a big obstacle for the international caring workers. Therefore, Hayama International Language School (HILS) has been founded in order to improve the quality of foreign nurses and caregivers. Thus, HILS is an affiliate of our Higashi Hospital Group.
Specifically, HILS will help students to prepare for themselves a good knowledge of Japanese language so that they can use Japanese for the nursing and caring education and training as well as for their daily life in Japan.
After finish language course at HILS, students will enter nursing and caring vocational school, college or university in Nara Prefecture. Finally, they themselves will become a nurse or caregiver in Nara Prefecture.
